The leader of the conservatives admits that the information that appeared in the public space that D. Nausėdienė has not been vaccinated so far can create doubts in society, which, he points out, should be dispelled.

“I think he is an important person in a country that many Lithuanians can relate to and, specifically, those for whom this message can potentially be very important.” And even a vague hesitation or stopping can send a strange signal … I think hesitation should dissipate, ”said G. Landsbergis in an interview with Eltai.

According to him, the vaccination of the first lady and a clear position regarding vaccines can be very important for the elderly Lithuanian population that has not yet been vaccinated. The Minister points out that it is the most difficult to reach and ask for vaccination.

“Leadership is very important in this regard. And I think this is what the state needs (…). This message is extremely important and it would be very disappointing if the opportunity was not seized or even used in the opposite direction” said G. Landsbergis.

The fact that the country’s first lady has not yet been vaccinated, the Delfi portal wrote this week. According to the portal, the Presidency informed him that Nausėda’s wife, 56, would soon be vaccinated. He also noted that D. Nausėdienė trusts all registered COVID-19 vaccines in the EU and Lithuania.

The president vaccinated Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) in March.
