For the first season, Frank Vogel, who trains the Los Angeles Lakers constellation, would present prestigious individual awards to his students. When it became clear that the basketball scores recorded in the NBA bubble would do nothing to select the best players, the California strategist expressed a personal opinion.

“No one has as much influence on victories as LeBron James. I think this year the MVP title should be for him, “Vogelis said.

LeBron, 35, was last named the Most Helpful Player in 2013. In total, there are four such awards on his account.

James scores an average of 25.7 points this season (12th in the league), 10.6 assists (first) and 7.9 rebounds (28th). The utility score of 28.6 is second in the championship after Giannis Antetokounmpas (average 31.8).

Vogel would award the title of best defensive basketball player of the year to Anthony Davis. The 27-year-old center has not yet received such an evaluation during his career, but in 2018 he was selected among the top five defending athletes, and in 2015 and 2017, the second.

Since the Lakers’ strategist can’t vote for himself in choosing the best coach of the year, he would give these laurels to Boston Celtics helmsman Brad Stevens.

The Celtics (43-21) ranked third in the Eastern Conference before the season ended, landing the Toronto Raptors (46-18) and the Milwaukee Bucks (53-12).

In terms of wins and losses, Vogel is coached by the Lakers (49-14), second in the entire NBA after the Bucks.
