Experts said the boy’s death is not murder, but the details of the incident and the investigators’ findings raise many questions for the mother.
I went out for a birthday
Linen (name changed) came out last year to celebrate his best friend’s 18th birthday, which took place in a private home on the outskirts of Skuodas. The boy was supposed to turn 18 a month later, but the celebration was fateful.
“Remembering all that day – he was busy with his little brother all day and did the work. Such a feeling that he already wanted so much for that birthday that he did everything neatly without even asking,” said the boy’s mother, Laima, in memory of that day.
The woman did not think she would see her son for the last time that night.
“I didn’t even have that idea,” the woman said on TV3’s “Before the Current.”
She didn’t find her son when he arrived
Laima had arranged with her son that they would pick her up at 3pm at night. Half an hour earlier, Linas had written messages to her mother and told her how she was at the party, but when she came to look for her son, she couldn’t find him at the farm.
“I went to the place, everyone was drunk. I asked him where the son is, one of his classmates replied that at the top. We go upstairs and he shows me another friend and says “look here sleeping”. I’m telling you what’s here, not my son.
Then he was already scared because he did not understand his behavior. Everyone so confused, scared. “Who I asked if he saw where he went, nobody saw anything, it seems that there is a kind of shadow,” said the boy’s mother.
Many of the young people at the party, according to the woman, behaved strangely and reacted to the mother looking for a child.
“With another – aut. no.) When I was a child we drove through the streets, we returned to the place. We went everywhere, watching until 4pm at night. Then, I called the police, ”Laima said.
Taken from the pond
The deceased’s grandmother said that Lin agreed with her mother at every step and told her everything, so she found the boy’s disappearance very strange.
“He is the type of child where he would coordinate every step with his mother, if he had left his birthday with friends, he would have told his mother everything,” said the grandmother.
Divers called by the police removed Lino’s body in the morning from a pond a few hundred meters from the farm where his birthday was celebrated.
“He was covered, I hugged him, I exposed him,” the child’s mother told me about the painful moment.
Limes captured the attention of various details on Lina’s body: strange marks could be seen on her hands and her shoelaces were untied.
“The hands looked broken, scratched and the shoes were loose, why take them out during the holidays?” Mom asked.
Strange conclusions
The state medical expert’s findings on the guy’s hands show no injuries. The documents say there are no signs of violence and the guy drowned.
“The conclusion of the state examination is strange, because no visible injuries have been described. During the armor, everyone came and asked what was on the boy’s hands, because the injuries were obvious,” Laima said.
Not wanting to agree with the findings, the boy’s relatives turned to a private, independent expert whose findings were different.
“The private expert wrote a completely opposite opinion to the state expert’s conclusion that it is not a sign of collapse, because there are no other characteristic signs of collapse, which is probably a sign of stretching or grabbing,” Lin’s mother said.
Such discrepancies cast many doubts on the family and suggest that the guy became the victim of a crime.
“Because there were friends who attended master classes in kung fu”, Laima based on his version.
The prosecutor does not want to close the case
Happiness does not neglect the feeling that officials are negligently investigating the case and not trying to uncover the truth. According to the woman, the reason for this could be dating and contacts, because Linas went to her birthday with the son of a large farmer from Skuodas, a well-known politician in the village.
“It is incomprehensible to me how from the beginning they pretend that this is an accident, but for 9 months they still cannot close my case because I do not give them peace of mind,” Laima said about the work of the officials.
The prosecutor investigating the case said she did not want to close the case and that Lina’s mother’s arguments were not relevant to her.
“You can really understand her as a mother. I asked him why he thought he might be interested in closing this case, so he was unable to answer.
I don’t live in Skuodas, I’ve been to that city maybe once. That, in principle, does not interest me, I have a goal in this case: to establish the truth. All actions in the case during the pre-trial investigation are aimed at establishing the truth in this case, ”said prosecutor Ligita Barauskienė.
