On Wednesday, 36 members of the municipal council unanimously approved the appointment of L. Koriznienė as director of administration by secret ballot, having previously removed the former director of administration by consensus at his request. Mr. Podersky leaves his position to move to the private sector, IT services company Tesonet.

L. Koriznienė recently headed the Personnel Department of Vilnius Municipality, held various positions in the administration for 16 years.

He said that he will seek to ensure “constant communication with the population” by informing about decisions, publicizing projects, as well as paying special attention to the elaboration of Vilnius’ strategic plan, transformation of rest areas, he hopes that the general plan will be approved. from the city. and revived the southern part of the capital.

Among other objectives, it promises to work more intensively with the central government, transparency and the efficiency of municipal companies. She identified managing COVID-19 situations as one of her most important tasks.

Mr. Podersky described the national stadium and Lazdynai basin projects as “two failures”, which could not be implemented due to political disagreements and court disputes, and in the basin case, the bankruptcy of the contractor.

According to P. Poderskis, during his leadership the administration managed to change the working culture of the municipality, more than 360 various real estate projects were completed, including Gabija, Balsiai, Vilnius school buildings, reconstruction of Vilnius high school, bicycle path infrastructure, corporate governance and municipal revenues grew.
