L. Kasčiūnas: preparation for the September 10 protest is at the highest level

The earlier protest at the Seimas on August 10, organized by Astra Genovaitė Astrauskaitė, turned into riots.

Some members of the Family Movement also attended.

Laurynas Kasčiūnas, chairman of the Seimas Defense and National Security Committee, did not rule out the possibility of riots at the next protest.

“All the scenarios are under consideration. There are several scenarios, but the preparations are first-rate, the interaction between the institutions is assured, the algorithms are clear. Everything is under control, ”he told reporters at Seimas on Friday.

This is what the politician said after hearing the information available to the intelligence services about the planned rally.

Seimas spokeswoman Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen said she appreciated the preparation.

“The services presented their visions, but everything is fine,” he said.

Comment of the president of Seimas:

When asked if there was a threat of riots, the Seimas spokeswoman said she did not have that information.

V.Čmilytė-Nielsen assured that the protests taking place near the Seimas do not change the Seimas agenda in any way.

“The Seimas agenda does not change. We have many important issues on the Seimas agenda this fall. These are, of course, both the budget debate and immigration issues. The agenda is as planned, basically the same,” he said.

The Vilnius city municipality promises to re-coordinate the September 10 rally with its organizers, but the latter already affirm that the event will take place “in any weather and under any conditions.”

It is planned that between 7 and 15 thousand people will participate in the protest with the slogans “Stop the dictatorship in Lithuania”, “Let’s give Lithuania back to the nation”, “Yes, for the liberation of the Seimas”. people.
