A. Kubilius stated on the program that this annual report was quite written, and the statements will be forgotten in three days.
“I did not miss much of anything, because I did not expect anything. When you do not expect much, you do not miss anything. Because, in my opinion, unfortunately, during these two years since his election, President G. Nausėda has not been able to find activities and meaningful places that he and the public can understand throughout the life of the Lithuanian state. That’s why that language was, I can’t say anything bad about it, but it was stenciled. In three days we will forget what it was all about. ” Kubilius presented his position.
He said that “when there is a lack of understanding of what you want to do as president, where are the most important priorities, then you talk about how bad everyone around us is.”
MEP A. Kubilius explained that President G. Nausėda did not choose the path of open criticism of the Government, because he had not done anything in two years.
“In some ways it is difficult for the president himself to criticize, because the question automatically arises, and what has the president been able to do in two years. This question is probably more difficult to answer, it is difficult to name a higher result. But apparently we have a president in this period whose place in the life of the state is not clear to him and to society. It wouldn’t make much sense to expect extraordinary results, “he said.
A. Kubilius compared G. Nausėdas with the king of Sweden: he is loved, people value him positively, symbolize him, evoke feelings, but the results and importance in the life of the state could not be specifically expected.
The politician spoke that perhaps the president lacks the personal qualities to highlight the presidential institution.
“Now we come to a time where there are no more circumstances where leadership of this magnitude is no longer needed. And perhaps G. Nausėda is a personality who could emphasize the institution of the president himself,” said A. Kubilius in the radio news program “Question of the Day” on Tuesday.
