“This week it will be (the vaccine introduced), and then everything is unfortunate, but it is changing like a war. Knowledge changes every day, so I can only say that I am fully prepared for what will be this week and I cannot do more important comments, ”I. Šimonytė told reporters at the Seimas on Tuesday.
According to her, the vaccination is “fully prepared” for the start of the vaccination, and the knowledge of when the next shipments of the vaccine will arrive, what the quantities will be, the delivery dynamics, “these numbers change not by days, but by hours”.
“So I don’t want to mislead you and the public, obviously that process will take place, we will receive the vaccine in some portions all the time, but we will have to quickly adapt our work accordingly,” the Prime Minister noted.
The European Commission on Monday gave official permission to distribute a pandemic coronavirus vaccine developed by BioNTech and Pfizer in the European Union, following a recommendation from the European Medicines Agency.
The authorization to distribute the vaccine opens the possibility of launching the first vaccines in the bloc of 27 nations immediately after Christmas.
