A few weeks ago, no mushrooms had even been seen in the woods, and their lovers were saddened that they would probably have to be satisfied with just a few mushrooms this year.

It is sad for no reason. During the weekend, social networks were flooded with photos of boletus, videos of forests where families could admire the sprouted mushrooms.

People took more beautiful photos. In the comments, the mushrooms shared advice on which forests to go to and which ones not.

“We went to the Grūšlaukė forest. We ourselves did not expect to find so many boletus. I really thought there would be less due to the drought, but I was wrong. We found cut mushrooms, but there were also many tiny mushrooms that we left to grow.

I can really declare the mushroom season open, because now curiosity will always lead me to the forests, ”said Alina Velykienė, a member of the Klaipėda City Council.

The interlocutor said that while driving towards Plungė near the forests, there are already many cars with stalls and mushrooms.

“I know the weather forecast promises heavy rains on Thursday, so on Friday we will definitely go to Grūšlaukė forest to pick mushrooms. For me, there are never too many mushrooms. I usually refrigerate them, but I would recommend freezing them in autumn, after boletus, because their taste lasts longer ”, assured the councilor.

A.Velykienė also said that now there are a lot of absinthe boletus, because half of the catch of her had to be discarded.

Klaipėda residents shared tips on social media, which places are worth going to mushrooms and which are still empty. “When you come to the forests of Priekulė, do not go to its depths, go to collect mushrooms in the desert, where there is a lot of sun and rain, you will find red cups,” shared the fungus participant Klaipėda.

Other Klaipėda mushroom lovers also shared the boletus images and invited to go to the forests of Vėžaičiai, Mikoliškiai, Kalnalis and Darbėnai.
