Dovilė, who graduated from communication studies and worked in journalism for a long time as a journalist, believes that her passion for production could have been inherited from her full-fledged grandmother.

Dovilė’s grandmother, who lived in Viekšniai, was a well-known hostess of the city: she prepared food for important occasions. “It’s a wedding, a christening, an anniversary and a funeral. We spent summers with her. Until now, I remember waiting at the door to return after work. They brought us mushrooms, candied chestnuts, strawberries. We weren’t allowed to produce together, but I saw the whole process, “said the interlocutor.

When his grandmother died, Deauville was left with all the old frying pans he had: mushrooms, squirrels.

Dovilė said that when she was raising her firstborn, Emilis returned to work quite early: when the girl was half a year old. Jan had more time to grow the cob.

“When I had to start breastfeeding a child, I started to think about how to make food look aesthetically appealing for the child to want to eat it. I bake a chop and watch: a turtle can be born or a person, a pancake covered in fruit can turn into the sun. I started thinking of food as an art, ”said the mother of two children.

Various shapes, wooden sticks, pins began to gradually accumulate in the kitchen cabinet. Vegetables and meatballs, strung on wooden sticks, turned into rockets, omelets, and potato dishes were baked in muffin pans.

“I remember Dikki didn’t like beets. I baked a beetroot bun: I enjoyed the unusual and pleasant taste. I think all moms have solved the dilemma of how to offer a child a taste of what he categorically rejects. Now he eats everything except fish and onion, ”said Dovilė.

Deauville often uses a waffle in the kitchen. It not only bakes the usual pancakes and omelets, but also various vegetable cakes.

“You can bake a simple zucchini pancake, but you can also bake it heart-shaped. When the picture changes, the flavor seems to be different. Or the dish, if it’s baked in a cupcake formula and if you put a flag stick on it , it looks tastier right away, ”said Dovilė.

Four-year-old Jan especially loved skewers: berries, fruits, vegetables.

“I remember that I didn’t like broccoli. Only when she saw him did she start to yawn. I made a broccoli bunny, cut it finely. Little by little, and the boy began to eat this vegetable, “recalled the mother.

Both children grew up for a long time without trying sweet products. But birthdays, holidays, and then a variety of sweets began.

Dovilė recalled how the baby tasted the Nutella cream on the guests. He couldn’t go through the stores in peace for a long time.

“Then I asked my mother in the Facebook group how to make Nutella cream at home. The moms submitted several recipes. The boy tried and immediately said that the cream was not like that,” said Dovilė.

The woman admits that she does not call her family healthy. “Especially during the week when we live on the go. But what matters to me is what we eat. I try to do everything possible to make the food as diverse as possible, ”said the citizen of Klaipeda.
