It is with deep sadness that we announce it on July 9. In the Republican Hospital in Klaipėda, after a serious illness, the life of Dr. Petras Bružas was extinguished.
For four decades, the doctor worked at the Republican Hospital in Klaipeda, dedicating all his strength and knowledge to patients.
Dr. P. Bružas was born in 1949. In the village of Pryšmančiai, Kretinga district. After graduating from the Kaunas Medical Institute at that time as a physician, he began his career at Kretinga Hospital, where he quickly became a respected and beloved surgeon throughout the Kretinga district. The doctor was also interested in trauma.
After realizing the exceptional organizational talents of P. Bružas, a few years later he was transferred to work at the Klaipėda Municipal Hospital (present-day university). He was not only entrusted with the leadership of the 3rd polyclinic (now the city). P. Bružas was also responsible for organizing the construction of the 3rd polyclinic. At the same time, the doctor also worked as an orthopedist-traumatologist.
Since 1992, Dr. P. Bružas became the director of the Klaipėda Republican Hospital. as an adjunct physician of surgery, and later (until the end of his life) he worked as a boss. coordinator – orthopedic traumatologist in the Department of Orthopedic Traumatology.
In the medical institution, the doctor was recognized as an excellent organizer, a professional and courageous doctor who was able to make the right decisions in a timely manner.
Dr. P. Bružas constantly improved his qualification and improved his skills at the Kharkov and Leningrad medical training institutes. He was also one of the organizers of the international conference of orthopedic traumatologists in Nida and the congress in Klaipeda, participated in various international congresses and conferences.
We are not wrong in saying that the Department of Orthopedic Traumatology of the Republican Hospital Klaipėda, the operating room of Dr. P. Bružas was like his second family, children, grandchildren, body and soul.
There was no case in which a doctor did not come to the hospital to help solve treatment problems, P. Bružas was in a hurry to help his colleagues at any time of the day. P. Bružas was appreciated by colleagues and patients alike for his sincerity, kindness, and dedication to the profession.
Responsibility, a philosophical approach to life, a subtle sense of humor, hobbies helped the doctor to stay fresh and energetic for a long time. P. Bružas was interested in art, loved to travel, was an active member of the medical club and a member of the Orthopedic Traumatology Societies of the Lithuania and Klaipėda Region. For his good work and public activities, the doctor has received many letters of thanks and letters of honor from Klaipeda city leaders and Klaipeda hospitals.
Many knew Peter’s love for painting and admired his great works. The original atlas of surgery by hand painted by a doctor served many young colleagues, but it remained only in sketches …
Mr. Bružas and his wife Biruta, also a doctor, raised a wonderful daughter who chose the profession of father.
The loss of Dr. Bružas was very great and affected not only his relatives and colleagues, but also his patients, who were treated by the doctor until the last moment, whenever he could, before the disease destroyed him.
We sincerely sympathize with the family and colleagues of Dr. Peter Bružas who are experiencing losses.

It will be possible to fire the deceased. At Joseph’s funeral home, Monday at 2 pm until Tuesday at 1 pm, where the urn will be fed with the remains of the doctor.
Monday at 6 pm Mass will be held.
