The US national team is expected to get help from one of the NBA’s biggest stars at the Tokyo Olympics.
Athletic journalist Shams Charania announces that Kevin Durant will join the national team this summer.
The Brooklyn Nets megastar just finished the season, losing the Eastern Conference semifinal series to the Milwaukee Bucks 3-4.
In this year’s playoffs, Durant was simply unstoppable, averaging 34.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
The 32nd forward last helped the national team at the 2016 Olympics. Durant, who later won gold with the USA, then compiled stats for 19.4 points and 5 rebounds.
The United States team will play in Group A of the Olympic Games with the winner of a qualifying tournament in France, Iran and Victoria.
Basketball will be played at the Olympics from July 24 to August 8.
