“Rinkos aikštė” interviewed the locals who enjoyed the first mushroom catches this year.

In two districts
Rita Kvilienė, a resident of the village of Vikaičiai, says that the first mushrooms germinate intensively and that being in the forest is a real refreshment for the soul.

The mushroom is a passion
Skirmantė Paukštytė-Čekanavičienė from Kėdainiai says proliferation is her passion. A woman always prepares a special dish for the family from the first mushrooms.
“I’ve been waiting all summer for the mushrooms to start sprouting. The mushroom is my passion. Although there were more people than mushrooms when we went to the forest. But because I know the place where the boletus sprouts and where nobody goes … I found it.

Impressive mushroom growth
Gudžiūnai resident Sandra Židonytė will remember the first mushroom picking in a long time this year: a young woman was growing up with her father and found many mushrooms.
The woman says that in the Gudžiūnai area, the mushrooms began to germinate very sparingly.

At first, it seemed like we wouldn’t find anything until we got into the dense forest – the trees are young, so we have to crawl almost a couple of times, and so many creatures squat that the exercise for the legs is really very good.
Well, when it has started, you are cutting one and counting the others around your eyes: the little ones are beautiful, even your head is spinning with happiness.
And when I cut, I realized that they were growing like they told me: there is a fluff and a fungus. It looks like you’ve already gathered them all, but turn around and three more are looking at you from behind.

The forest smells like mushrooms
Agnė Šalugė, who lives in Kėdainiai, travels to the forests of the Gudžiūnai area with her husband every year.

It is true that mushrooms can definitely be found everywhere in the Kėdainiai district. Here is Živilė Sugakovienė, a resident of Valučiai, who says that her residences are still too dry in the surrounding forests.

Tomas Jankauskas, a mushroom that comes from Mažeikiai but currently lives in Kėdainiai, says that the most important thing in the forest is experiencing impressions.
