Club Telšiai played at home in the fifth round match in a 1: 1 (1: 1) draw with Kauno Žalgiris, who had won all three matches so far.
The first half went quite calmly until the last minutes. “Kauno Žalgiris” created several half explosions, in turn, the hosts responded with a shot from Martynas Vasiliauskas, which was handled by goalkeeper Deividas Mikelionis.
At 40 minutes, Kaunas took the lead: after a pass from the left, Deividas Šešplaukis parried the ball to Lino Pilibaičio, and this was the fourth goal of this season with a powerful shot.
After this week’s game, the “Kauno Žalgiris” veteran once again broke into the ranking of the most productive players in the championship.
It is true that after just under two minutes, Telšiai’s team responded with a successful attack. Yudai’us Koike caught Leo Ribeiro’s ball, which exploded closer to Kauno Žalgiris’ goal and from a distance of about 18 meters he fired flawlessly into the far corner of the goal.
In the first part of the second half, Džiugas played more actively and goalkeeper D. Mikelionis was forced to defend himself against the blows of the Nasko Milev couple.
Kauno Žalgiris strategist Rokas Garastas threw two players from the Lithuanian national team into the fray, Martynas Dapkas and Egidijus Vaitkūnas, but the guests once again played a very disciplined match on defense and scored the fifth point on their account.
