Kaunas Monginienė Famous Jewelry Maker: Women Don’t Want Jewelry, But Masks And Their Accessories

Elvyra Monginienė, a jewelry designer who introduced her protective masks and promoted the Elvyra Design brand in the spring, created exclusive mask accessories after the second wave of the insidious COVID-19.

“The idea of ​​creating mask accessories came mainly from hygiene. I’ve noticed people throw masks in their pockets, drop where they fall in the car, or just hold a bag with other things buried in their purse. By the way, I am no exception. I did the same, which is definitely not hygienic, because then we put that mask on our face. Second, masks are often forgotten, or worse, lost. The idea arose to create an accessory that not only fulfills the function of holding and storing the mask, but also an elegant piece of jewelry. Thus, among the mask accessories, first there was a bracelet-wallet to hold the mask and always have it by your side, and then also elegant chain-type mask holders ”, said Elvyra Monginienė.

The designer stayed true to Swarovski crystals and fur when creating mask accessories. According to her, the glow of the crystals gives the skin a subtle luxury and the skin muffles the shine of the crystals, creating a perfect balance. Those who know the work of Elvira Monginienė have already pointed out that she likes to combine crystals with metallic details or elements with strict shapes.

“When wearing crystals, it is important not to overdo it because there is a very fine line between tasteful jewelry and complete kitsch. Thus, the mask holders are made with details of leather, crystals and chain, which currently reigns in the fashion charts. Every small leather detail is cut by hand, the leather is thinned, the edges are coated with a special rubber to smooth the edge, then the details are glued by inserting crystals and finally the edges are painted. The support can be personalized by engraving a name or initials on the skin ”, the designer shared the subtleties of the work.

Elvyra presents to the public two models of mask holders. One of them is decorated with crystals, which has more shine and is intended for women, and the other has more metallic details and is more popular with men and women who do not like too intense shine.

The jewelry designer is open: she did not expect the time to come when masks and their accessories would become the most coveted product. “We are very happy that our masks are appreciated not only in Lithuania, but also abroad. We are currently working intensively with boutiques in Switzerland and France. We note that masks and their supports are often bought for a loved one as a gift. This Christmas period is completely different from what we could have predicted a year ago. Ironically, women no longer wear earrings or necklaces, but masks and their accessories, ”said Elvyra Moginienė.

The designer, who invited the model Marius Litvinavičius, presents her work in the last photo session. “I am grateful to the makeup artist Gabriel Sinickaitė, the photographer Aura Šimkienė and the LXM media film crew, who helped implement my idea,” said the jeweler.
