People walking
Entrepreneur and owner of hundreds of millions of properties R. Karpavičius missed the missing items from his Palanga home on December 20, 2018.
As far as we know, after the operation and treatment at the hospital, he went to his home in Palanga and no longer found the extremely valuable works of art and jewelry that had been there before.
The editorial office then received a copy of a statement written by R. Karpavičius and submitted to the police on the night of December 20, 2018, in which the businessman stated that he would report that from 2018. Today, the investigation into large-scale theft is still ongoing. Delfi managed to record the records in December 2018, before the businessman visited the house and property was lost, the exterior security cameras of the stolen house.
They show people walking around the area at night and at night, it is important that the area is monitored 24 hours for physical protection, as well as a woman who enters and leaves the house, a person who comes to the door for overnight and pick up a package you left a few minutes ago.
Delfi shares the most interesting moments below:
Here it is on December 4, just after 1 p.m. see a woman leave the house through the front door. She has items and a garbage bag in her hands. It is soon accessed by a person, possibly a security guard, who hands him a garbage bag and then gets into the car. More people can be seen walking.
The record of December 8 shows almost 12:30 at night. The front door of the house opens at night and a small package is placed next to it. Soon the man who entered the area reaches the door of the house and picks up the bag.
The cameras also captured people walking in the area supervised by security guards on the night of December 12, who are still spinning wheels around the house in the video.
On the afternoon of December 17, a BMW car leaving his home garage was also registered, as well as a woman leaving the passenger seat. That same night, around 9 p.m., two adult men can be seen playing in the snow with their children on the patio. The children take the lanterns and light them at the windows.
On December 20, shortly after 2 p.m. R. Karpavičius returns to his home, and even later the police officers arrive at his home. What happened next, read here.
The house lived until December 29.
Delfi contacted Artur Jušinski, a lawyer representing Audronė Karpavičienė and Rokas Karpis. He agreed to answer the questions in writing. We present them without editing:
– With P. A. Karpavičienė and p. In December 2018, R. Karpis visited Mr. R. Karpavičius’s house in Palanga? If so, when? When was the last time you were there? Did you have the keys?
– Audronė Karpavičienė lived with Raimonds Karpavičius as a family at his home in Palanga for several years, where his son Rokas Karpis also visited.
Audronė Karpavičienė had the keys to this house until December 18, 2018, when she went on vacation to Norway with her son’s family. 12/28/2018 When he returned to his home in Palanga, he found the door locks replaced and new security guards. She herself summoned police officers, in whose presence she entered the house for the purpose of moving. 12/29/2018 Audronė Karpavičienė moved in with her son living nearby and moved all her personal belongings to the garage of her son’s house.
It should be noted that as early as January 3, 2020, police officers conducted a search at the home of son Rokas Karpis, during which Audronė Karpavičienė’s belongings were thoroughly inspected, but no objects or other objects were found or seized relevant to research during the search. Therefore, it is obvious that the alleged robbery was carefully arranged in advance, and at that time Raimondas Karpavičius, who was already seriously ill, was deceived and persuaded due to the guilt of Rokas Karpis and Audronė Karpavičienė.
– Could it be that Mr. A. Karpavičienė has been in this house for some time in December 2018?
– As mentioned above, Audronė Karpavičienė lived in the house (city of Palanga, Klaipėdos pl. 35A) until December 29, 2018.
– With P. TO. Karpavičienė or R. Karpis have a white Mercedes Benz car?
– Audronė Karpavičienė and Rokas Karpis do not have a white Mercedes Benz car.
– One of the videos shows a woman handing over a garbage bag to a security guard while a security guard takes it away. Has it been passed on to Mr. A. Karpavičienė, if so what was in it?
– To the extent that we are allowed to know the results of the inspection of still videos, it is a categorical conclusion that Audronė Karpavičienė has not delivered any garbage bags to the security guard, therefore he is not aware of the contents of that bag .
In this case, it should be emphasized that the consistent practice of the Supreme Court of Lithuania stipulates that cohabitation, joint management, creation of joint property with personal funds and joint work by the court are sufficient grounds to recognize the previous agreement on the joint activities of the joint venture.
Pre-trial investigation material shows that the possibly stolen items were acquired by the first royal family before R. Karpavičius’s acquaintance and his March 28, 2019 wedding to Aiste (Grybauskiene) Karpavičienė. Audronė Karpavičienė filed an application with the Klaipėda Regional Court on December 21, 2018 for the purpose of determining the parts of the property prior to the death of R. Karpavičius, and on March 5, 2019 the will of his son Rokas Karpis on September 10, 2019, it was challenged in the Vilnius City District Court. On the basis of the provisional protection measure applied by the court, the heirs Henrikas Karpavičius and Aiste (Grybauskienė) Karpavičienė were not issued a certificate of the right of inheritance, therefore, the potentially stolen registered property does not belong to them until now . 05/03/2019 The will did not enter into force, i. it does not create rights and obligations for the parties and cannot be enforced.
Given the above factual circumstances, Audronė Karpavičienė and Rokas Karpis were recognized as victims of the current legal regulation in this pre-trial investigation, because until the courts in the civil cases in question recognized otherwise, the objects sought by Police investigators belong to them. Therefore, the recognition of H. Karpavičius and A. (Grybauskienė) Karpavičienė as victims in the absence of article 28 of the CPC of the Republic of Lithuania. 1 d. He was rushed and inconsistent with the facts of the case.
– With P. A. Karpavičienė and R. Karpis have already been questioned about the video recordings from video cameras and have been given evidence in the pre-trial investigation.
– Audronė Karpavičienė and Rokas Karpis were interviewed in the aforementioned pre-trial investigation. It should be noted that the video material that he mentioned for the period from 02/12/2018 to 12/21/2018 was reviewed by specialists on 02/18/2019 and 03/06/2019. inclusive, and inspection protocols are developed.
It was concluded that: “No relevant details have been identified for the pre-trial investigation.” Following these findings by police investigators, Rokas Karpis was interviewed three more times, i. 2019 07 01, 2019 09 04 and 2020 02 04. In order not to jeopardize the success of the pre-trial investigation and without the permission of the prosecutor who controls the pre-trial investigation, the detailed content of the testimony of Audronė Karpavičienė and Rokas Karpis it will not be revealed at this stage.
He has reproaches
Darius Raulušaitis, the lawyer for R. Karpavičius’ second wife, Aistė Karpavičienė, had previously stated that he had criticized investigators in the investigation into the robbery case.
According to him, the records of the home security cameras had to be carefully analyzed from the beginning of the investigation, but this, as he emphasized, was taken only after a new request.
“It is difficult to explain the reasons why it was not done. In my opinion, that is just further evidence that that study was rejected. After all, video data is one of the best tests that can be used to justify or refute certain versions very quickly.
Paradoxically, in this case, the videos from home security cameras were not properly investigated. The task of experts to examine the video camera recordings was assigned only recently and only after the respective request, “said the lawyer.
I can’t comment
The editorial board also requested a comment on the fixed footage from the video cameras from the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Lithuania.
When asked if it was planned to be reviewed or if there were people interviewed, Ignė Rotautaitė Pukenė, Chief Specialist in the Communication Department of the Prosecutor’s Office, said he was unable to provide information.
“A pre-trial investigation is conducted, as well as all necessary actions from the pre-trial investigation.
We are unable to answer your other questions at this time, as these are pre-trial investigation data and only the prosecutor can decide to what extent they can be published. In order not to harm the investigation, we cannot provide data, “he said.
