Aušra Maldeikienė, who works in the European Parliament, also participated in the heated discussions on TV Raskevičius. On Friday, he publicly accused Ramūnas Karbauskis, leader of the peasant party, of harassment on his Facebook account. According to the woman, she also appealed to the Ombudsman for Equal Opportunities. Subsequently, R. Karbauskis also reacted to A. Maldeikienė’s words.

Here is the full text of A. Maldeikienė’s entry:

“I accuse Ramūnas Karbauskis of harassment. Today, I appealed to the Lithuanian Ombudsman for Equal Opportunities to assess the conduct of Mr. Ramūnas Karbauskis, as I have good reason to state that the campaign supported by him and the thoughts directed against Seimas member Tomas Raskevičius are repeated in accordance with Article 2 of the Equal Opportunities Law of Lithuania 7 d) Intentional sexual harassment.

Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius is a competent and hardworking chairman of the Seimas Committee. Their agendas cover a wide range of human rights issues. Knowing the contempt and hatred of some people who call themselves Christians, Raskevičius and other LGBT people experience it, and it is strange that the issues of the LGBT community were discussed only once during his leadership committee. And that was enough for him to be humiliated.

The facts show that R. Karbauskis is harassed only because T. Raskevičius is a member of the LGBT community. And it violates the law. “

Karbauskis: Strangely demands attention.

R. Karbauskis said on Friday afternoon that it was difficult for him to evaluate the actions and speeches of Ms A. Maldeikienė.

Especially after he insulted deportees who suffered in the Laptev Sea, and now again in a strange way he demands attention. I would very much like to see quotes that have made politicians want to address the Ombudsman for Equal Opportunities. May I suggest you go to the prosecutor’s office or to the court, then we can speak in the language of arguments. But I don’t think politicians care about the pursuit of justice, but how to further enrage society.

It seems that everything related to the traditional family and what is expensive for Lithuania makes the politician uncomfortable. However, she and some other politicians of the ruling majority in the general context can also show that the efforts of such politicians distort perceptions of democracy and try to silence, intimidate people who have a different opinion that does not coincide with the of the ruling majority. .

And this majority, as you know, invades the family institute, seeking to interfere in the sexual education of children. Another thing that is also worrying is that we must not allow democracy to become distorted to the point that people with unconventional orientations violate the law, despise dissidents, commit all kinds of crimes, act unethically and cannot tell them nothing because Will you be accused of harassment? ”- answered R. Karbauskis.

According to him, it is another thing that A. Maldeikienė is well aware that people expressed their opinion not only because TV Raskevičius only talks about gay rights.

“Which gives the impression that he does not really care about all people equally, but also because there are commercial problems in his work as a politician, as the chairman of the commission: Raskevičius abstractly formulates issues on the agendas, which the NGOs do not understand if Not all NGOs are invited to the sessions and there are already appeals from the Seimas factions because they feel discriminated against.

Also, p. Raskevičius holds meetings behind closed doors, although they do not contain confidential information, the members of the committee he chairs do not even have permission to work with him. Many questions arise as to why the content is hidden from the public without releasing a recording of the meeting, for example about the Lithuanian Research Center on Genocide and Resistance. Therefore, it seems that those tactics, hitting themselves, yelling at themselves, require as much attention and division from society as possible, ”replied R. Karbauskis.

Čmilytė-Nielsen: The initiative to remove Raskevičius from the heads of the committees is not a request

The initiative of people posing as public figures, urging MP Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius to resign as chairman of the Seimas Human Rights Committee, is not a request, says Seimas chairman Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen.

“At the initiative of the citizens, the list that was presented to me is a list of surnames, it is not a signature,” the president of Seimas told LRT radio on Wednesday.

“From what I have had to look at that list, it contains names, there are emails, but it is not possible to speak of that initiative as a petition because it does not meet the requirements for such documents,” he said. .

V. Čmilytė-Nielsen stated that it would be difficult to verify the authenticity of some of the data, because only a third of the phones are listed.

The Seimas Spokesperson also mentioned that she had personally received around 400 emails confirming that people really support the initiative, but according to her, this is only one percent of the total list.
