“There is nothing to comment on. This is an initiative of the Seimas members, but we in the faction do not see that meaning,” R. Karbauskis told reporters at Seimas on Thursday.
Towards the end of the Seimas legislature, new proposals emerged on how to adjust rent not only for signatories, but also for former MPs and prime ministers.
Juozas Liesys, a member of the faction of the Liberal Movement, which registered such proposal, proposes to legalize that a former member of the Seimas has the right to receive a state annuity from a member of the Seimas, the amount of which is 50 percent of the official monthly salary.
It is also proposed that the former Head of Government pay a state annuity to the Head of Government, the amount of which is 50 percent of the official salary of a member of the Seimas per month.

The members of Seimas Andrius Mazuronis, Mindaugas Puidokas, Valentinas Bukauskas, Petras Čimbaras and Artūras Skardžius registered another proposal for the draft amendment to the Law on the status of the signatories of the Act of Independence of Lithuania.
Former heads of government are offered an annuity of 75 percent of a Seimas member’s monthly salary. According to the draft, a former prime minister is a person who has been prime minister for at least two years.
The new provisions are proposed to come into effect from 2021.
