Karbauskis cuts Skvernel criticism: he just doesn’t know anything about it

Opposition leader S. Skvernel, a member of the LVŽS faction, told ELTA news agency on Monday that the shadow government is not cooperating with the parliamentary opposition and is not doing what should be done.

“The answer is this: the leader of the opposition did not read any of the documents that we adopted in the shadow government. He was never interested in the agendas or the documents themselves, because when I hear such comments, I understand that the person has not read, “R. Karbauskis told reporters on Tuesday.

According to him, the shadow government analyzes the government’s work plan and makes proposals.

“He knows what was in the press. There were amendments to the Constitution in the press and a call for the president to be represented on the European Council (EC). (…) All the comments without knowing anything about what is being talked about ”, said the leader of LVŽS.

According to R. Karbauskis, S. Skvernelis comments in this way because he is still dissatisfied with the format of the shadow government: it is composed only of the representatives of the LVŽS.

“There is no conflict here, it is simply human character. He did not like the decision that the shadow government was created only by LVŽS; otherwise it could not be formed and this is quite obvious. (…) As I thought that this Government should not be only peasant, it is not very happy to be there, ”said R. Karbauskis.

The politician stressed that there is no conflict with S. Skvernel. It is true that he did not hide by urging his colleagues not to comment without knowing the real situation.

“They are human things, they do not create conflict in the party, they do not cause conflict in the faction. It is something that I would see as a misunderstanding. Only your comment, without knowing what you are commenting on, is very similar to the comments of the Seimas Spokesperson on various themes ”, continued R. Karbauskis.

“Today I asked all the members of the group and I told them ‘be good, never comment on what you do not know and have not read'”. It is really ugly when a shadow government is commented on by someone who has not read anything about what this government did ”, added the president of LVŽS.

S. Skvernelis told ELTAI on Monday that he was glad he was not part of the shadow government.

“I am very happy not to be there. Because it seems to me that it would be more constructive if there were opposition to the Government in this very difficult situation, when some of its decisions are desperate and chaotic (…). And now getting involved in political battalions and discussions about who should represent the EVS … These are not just decisions of the real government, but certainly not of the shadow government. After all, there are decisions of this type in the Seimas, ”said the former prime minister.
