On Thursday the first tournament in this year’s “Big Cross” series, the “Australian Open”, ended on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the best Lithuanian tennis player. This was the third meeting between these players and the second victory for K. Khakhanov.

In the third set the fifth game became decisive, which the Lithuanian lost with the result 30:40. In this set, the games were shorter and both players won their innings quite confidently, but the mistakes made in the fifth game did not allow R. Berankis to continue his performance at the Australian Open.
This was the second time in a row that Berankis finished his performance at the Australian Open in the second round. So far, the Lithuanian had risen the most by 10 performances in 2011 and 2013, when he reached the third rounds.
R.Berankis earned 150,000 this year. Australian dollars (about 96 thousand euros) and 45 ATP unit rating points.
R.Berankis will continue his performance in the doubles competition with the Kazakhs Mikhail Kukushkin I got into the second round and met the Australians Jameso duckwortho (Binary ATP-211) and Marco Polmanso (Binary ATP-133) duo.
The total prize fund of the Australian Open is up to 80 million. Australian dollars (approximately 51 million euros).
