“Julio, as we predicted, is starting very actively. Many airlines and flight directions that were at our airports before the quarantine are already returning today,” Tadas Vasiliauskas, spokesperson for Lithuanian airports, told BNS.
Flights to Warsaw, Helsinki, Brussels and Vienna will resume in July. Charter flights to Greece and Bulgaria will also start this week from Vilnius airport.
Typically, in July, there were more than 90 destinations at airports, but T. Vasiliauskas says that July’s plans show positive trends in the passenger aviation sector.
“We consider the plans for this July as a very good result. Passenger aviation is returning from the deep well to its previous volumes,” said T. Vasiliauskas.
In Lithuania, the airspace for passenger and ferry flights was closed on April 4. The first flights after the quarantine began to resume in mid-May.
