Today, the Betsafe-LKL championship rings reached the members of the Kaunas Žalgiris coaching staff from last year: Šarūnas Jasikevičius, Darius Maskoliūnas, Tomas Masiulis and Justinas Grainis.
Jasikevičius, who has led the Lithuanian champions’ team since the beginning of 2016, decided to move to sunny Barcelona in the summer and, together with him, brought the team of coaches working in Žalgiris to Spain.
The Lithuanian headquarters of the coaches arrived in Kaunas on Thursday, as tomorrow they will play the Euroleague game against the temporary club from the capital.
The rings were presented to the coaches by Romsadas Brazauskas, CEO of Betsafe-LKL.
“That season was weird, we were one of those states that we didn’t have to play to the end to be champions, but it’s really good. The work was done normally, we were favorites, there is a good chance that we would have won, but you never know, “said the coach.
When asked if this might not be his last ring, Jasikevičius did not rule out that possibility. “Life will be seen,” replied the strategist.
The Betsafe-LKL champion ring has already been awarded to KC Rivers, and it should decorate the fingers of Edgar Ulanov and Zach LeDay during the season.
