Gintautas Paluckas and Tomas Bičiūnas, members of the Social Democratic Party faction in the Seimas, registered the amendments to the Employment Law.
The current level of support (benefit for the self-employed) is equal to a minimum consumption requirement (MVPD).
“This support cannot in any way cover the minimum cost of survival, such as a mortgage or rent. As a result, quarantine-restricted sectors and those who operate in them are forced into debt, significantly increasing the amount of arrears. ”, Say the authors of the project.
In the explanatory memorandum, they point out that the current regime of support for the self-employed does not encourage the Government to objectively address the relaxation of quarantine restrictions and the opening of individual sectors and causes unjustified harm to people who have worked in restricted areas. sectors.
Currently, the self-employment benefit is paid monthly for the previous calendar month and is equivalent to one of the minimum consumption needs for the current year, calculated in accordance with the Law for the Determination of Reference Indicators of Social Assistance Benefit and Basic Amount of Penalties and Sanctions.
