It is difficult for A. Juozaitis and N. Puteikis to agree: they can compete even in individual members

Sakalas Gorodeckis, president of the Union of Lithuanian Nationalists and Republicans, Naglis Puteikis, president of the Center Party “Prosperity Lithuania”, and Arvydas Juozaitis, leader of the Union of Generational Solidarity-Cohesion of Lithuania, announced their intentions to cooperate in the elections mid-June.

Even then, A. Juozaitis was talking about the coalition list. However, during that time, the Center Party “Gerovės Lietuva” agreed to merge with the Union of Lithuanian Nationalists and Republicans and participate in the elections as a single party: the Center-Nationalists Party.

N. Puteikis expected the same agreement with A. Juozaitis’s party, but was disappointed. “We offered them to go on a list, they didn’t agree. The nationalists agreed, but the neighbors did not. I am happy with the actions of the nationalists who managed to reach an agreement with them “, admitted N. Puteikis.

A. Juozaitis only agrees to form a coalition, but then the joint list would have to gather at least 7, not 5 percent. votes of citizens.

“We are talking about a coalition. Now they are being considered, counting all the options. Yes, those things that he has said (about 7%, in the past), are worrying”, admitted N. Puteikis.

Yes, those things you said (for 7% – last ed.) – are worrying, – admitted N. Puteikis.

There is no consensus on unique members

So far, both parties have submitted their application documents to the CEC and are preparing for the elections separately. So far apart that they don’t even agree on common candidates in single-member districts. Although Santalka is nominating eight candidates for Lithuania in single-member districts, in the electoral districts of Mėguva, Kelmė-Šilalė and Radviliškis-Tytuvėnai he intends to compete with the candidates proposed by the Center Party.

N. Puteikis says that one-member coalitions will not form even after forming a coalition of parties.

“It just came to our notice then. We went up, so if it’s duplicated in multiple places, it’s nothing of the kind. I don’t see any problem or problem here. The voter will choose,” N. Puteikis said.

Negotiations on the coalition of parties are still ongoing and A. Juozaitis assures that the coalition will definitely meet.

Our coalition will take place in the near future, thinks A. Juozaitis.

“Our coalition will take place in the near future. We still have time until September 6. Everything is going according to plan. We didn’t want a one-party list, our position was 7 percent. And that’s it. This is a coalition issue because identity cannot be lost. The parties must be equal, “he explained.

The name of the coalition, according to A. Juozaitis, will be “Lithuania is here.”

A.Juozaitis also has no doubts that although the Union of Intergenerational Solidarity – Cohesion has fewer candidates for Lithuania and has 100,000. EUR less funds than the Lithuanian Welfare Center Party, after forming a coalition, the first position on the common list will not be for N. Puteikis, but for him.

“It just came to our knowledge then. There is no dispute or anything here about this,” explained the philosopher.

According to him, there is still time to agree single-member electoral districts, in three of which both parties have planned to nominate candidates so far.

“It will be clear next week when we move there. N. Puteikis works in such a way that he thought there would be no coalition, he was such an image, that’s why he just more or less worked here. We will coordinate this to attract candidates,” explained the president of the Union of Intergenerational Solidarity – Cohesion in Lithuania.

The center party list is double

A. Juozaitis himself is not running for office in a one-member constituency because “he doesn’t want to waste energy.” N. Puteikis nominates in the Danish constituency.

In total, the Intergenerational Solidarity Union – Coalition for Lithuania has 42 candidates on the list, and the Center Party – “Lithuanian Welfare” – 98.

The first number on this list is the parliamentarian, the president of the Naglis Puteikis Center Party, the second – his deputy Kristupas Krivickas, the third – the former Foreign Minister Povilas Gylys, the fourth – the president of the nationalist union Sakalas Gorodeckis, the fifth – former MP Gintaras Songamentarila.
