This afternoon a major accident took place on the Panevėžys ring road, near Bernatoniai. Here a truck, three tractors and a car collided. The accident completely blocked traffic. Here is the driver of an Audi, his car was hit by a Mercedes truck pushed by another tractor.
“I was driving in a ring from the Bernatoniai side towards Panevėžys and after entering the roundabout the heavy transport hit me to the right and everything. There was nothing I could do, or protect myself, or what, it just happily ended for me, ”said the driver.
Doctors called the driver of an Audi and the Polish citizen of the Volvo truck that caused the accident. And there was no need to transport the latter to the hospital: the men suffered only minor bruises. Rescuers also came: there was no need to guide people, there were no oppressed people. The firefighters only made sure the crashed vehicles didn’t catch fire.
The driver who caused the accident, like the other participants in the accident, was sober. It turns out that after the blizzard started, the Polish driver failed to stop at the intersection and ran towards the two Scania trucks that were standing by the ring and waiting to enter, and the Mercedes truck. The most damaged tractor of the culprit: the entire cabin was damaged.
