According to the report, the most frequent of the 15 infringements detected during the “Garage” campaign in the Telšiai and Plungė districts was non-compliance with waste management and generation accounting or improper management. For this infraction, 8 protocols of administrative offenses were drawn up and they face fines ranging between 230 and 430 euros.

Telšiai SAI officials identified three violations due to late submission of waste management and generation reports. If reports are not submitted before the deadline, violators will be fined between € 120 and € 220.
You can also distinguish the incorrect classification of the waste generated. Improper classification of waste by 2 economic entities, they face a fine of 20 to 80 euros.
Environmentalists have identified 1 economic entity that does not meet the requirements for labeling hazardous waste, for which a Protocol of Administrative Offenses has been drawn up and is subject to a fine of 140 to 440 euros.
An Administrative Crimes protocol was drawn up for another economic entity without carrying out the permit established in the Law on Environmental Protection of the Republic of Lithuania or other legal acts that regulate environmental protection or the use of natural resources.
If a company is not granted a permit to carry out economic activities, natural persons face a fine of 300 to 560 euros, administrators of legal entities – from 900 to 1700 euros and other responsible persons – from 600 to 1150 euros .

During the campaign, a serious violation of recreational fishing was also established: the person was fishing in a prohibited place (less than 100 m below the pond drains).
The Telšiai SAI campaign will continue to be carried out by Garažiukas. Officials will provide methodological assistance to economic entities during inspections, will advise on waste management requirements, GPAIS waste accounting and other issues.
The Department of Environmental Protection recalls that companies whose activities generate hazardous and non-hazardous waste (with certain exceptions provided for in the legislation) must keep records of waste generation in the Unified Accounting Information System for Products, Containers and Waste (GPAIS).
