Public transport traffic management specialists at S Tie “Tiekimo paslaugos” regularly monitor passenger flows and adjust bus and trolleybus schedules, providing their ability to make driving safe and comfortable: upcoming changes are scheduled for the 12th of May. Passengers themselves are reminded of the basic rules to follow when traveling by bus and trolleybus: wear protective masks, disinfect your hands every time you enter and leave public transportation at the middle door, keep your distance, take a seat, according to the press release.

“Vilnius residents use public transport more actively, and we will continue to ensure maximum safety and smooth travel. We disinfect buses and trolleybuses after each trip, adjust schedules, launch more spacious and frequent vehicles, especially during rush hour. We are returning bus route 89, which did not run during quarantine, and only electric buses are working, as well as bus 33 will return to Kalnėnai. We also use public transport control to maintain general order and security: controllers review tickets and also, if necessary, coordinate passenger flows, ”says Modesta Gusarovienė, the director of SĮ Sazimo paslaugos.

The disinfection of buses and trolleybuses, even with the relaxation of quarantine measures, continues after each road trip. Window frames, all surfaces intended to be occupied by passengers are cleaned: handrails, handles, seat backs, as well as floors and surfaces are sprayed with disinfectant. At night, public transport parks are used to clean the exterior and interior of vehicles.
