In two days, firefighters went 52 times to remove fallen trees

According to data from the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue, as of Monday at 6:00 p.m. as of 6 pm Tuesday Firefighters across Lithuania removed boiled trees and branches from the road 33 times.

There were nine such sorties in Tauragė county, eight in Šiauliai, five in Panevėžys, five in Telšiai and two in each of Alytus and Kaunas counties.

On Monday night, in the Raseiniai district, Nemakščiai elder home, Balčiai village, a tree fell on the wires of an electric pole and the roof of a residential house.

That same night, in the Jurbarkas district, Šimkaičiai elderhood, Aušgiris village, a fallen tree on the road obstructed traffic. Rescuers pulled the tree out of the road. The large fallen branch of a tree also impeded traffic in the Jonava district, Šilai elder estate, Ilgabradai village.

From Tuesday at 6 pm to Wednesday at 6 pm Firefighters removed boiled trees and branches from the road 19 times: in Panevėžys county there were six such calls, in Klaipėda – four, in Telšiai – three, in Marijampolė and Utena counties – twice, and in Kaunas and Šiauliai counties – once.

On Tuesday night in Kaunas, Kreidos Street, a downed tree blocked two lanes of traffic. Firefighters cut down the tree with a chainsaw and pulled it out of the driveway.

Trees that fell on the roads and obstructed traffic were removed in Vilkaviškis district, Vištytis town, Šakiai district, Sudargi old-town and Ročiškės village.
