As reported by the Department of Environmental Protection on Thursday, officials from its Marijampolė Wildlife Protection Inspectorate received a report that two people were handling a deer that had been illegally hunted.

With the help of the police, they went to the farm in the Vilkaviškis district and demanded to show the hunted deer. Although at first the farm owner claimed to know nothing, the deer carcass was finally shown and admitted that the deer was trapped in loops with another person.

While surveying the area, officers found three metal ties on the goose and two more of the same ties on the farm building.

While the farm was being inspected, a part of the rope about 20 cm long was observed on the patio floor with a float attached, which is used for fishing nets. In demanding the return of prohibited tools, the homeowner displayed a construction net. Later, three other non-amateur fishing gears were found on the farm: two construction fishing nets made from nets and one from unacceptable size buoys.

All prohibited tools were removed from people and administrative infraction protocols were written for infractions of the Hunting Rules. His cases of minor administrative offenses were transferred to the Vilkaviškis Palace of the Marijampolė District Court.

A protocol of administrative misconduct for violation of the rules of amateur fishing in inland waters was also drawn up for the owner of the farm.

During the inspection, officials also found that illegal motor vehicle dismantling activities were also carried out on the farm. As a result of this activity, officials from the Kalvarija Environmental Inspectorate opened an administrative investigation.

Police officers drew up administrative foul protocols for five people on the farm at the time for failure to comply with quarantine conditions.
