Currently, the study covers the transactions of 12 private companies related to the sale of various medical equipment and other devices to 14 Lithuanian medical institutions, which were concluded after possible non-transparent public procurement tenders. Currently, more than 100 criminal offenses are being investigated throughout Lithuania. Twenty-nine representatives of private companies and twenty-two employees of medical institutions, nine of whom are heads of medical institutions, are currently accused of various acts of corruption.
Data collected by STT officials currently suggests that representatives of companies trading in medical devices and equipment, possibly operating by various illegal means, may have created conditions for companies to illegally obtain purchases from various Lithuanian medical institutions for more. of 3 million. The study is carried out by the Central Research Board of the STT together with all the territorial boards. The investigation is controlled, organized and directed by a group of prosecutors from the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Directorate of the Attorney General’s Office and the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Division of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
