The layout of the traffic checkpoints in the ring municipalities will be different for the rest of January than before, and people will experience fewer inconveniences as a result, says Police Commissioner General Renatas Požėla.
“In those parts of the country bordering urban municipalities, the design of checkpoints is changing, so people will experience much less inconvenience. Each district police station is free to take into account the particularities of the district. and apply different control measures, ”said the country’s police chief in a statement from the Interior Ministry.
Mr. Požėla discussed the implementation of motion control measures with Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite on Wednesday, who claims that the police will carry out motion control differently than before.
“The last three weekends have been a good experience in controlling the movement of people. The mobility of the population has decreased significantly, but the festive period is over, so the police are taking new tactics, taking into account the particularities of the working week and weekends, ”said A. According to the ministry, in January more officials will work on weekends and fewer on weekdays.
There will also be fewer stationary checkpoints, but more active movement will be monitored in unannounced locations and at unannounced times.
