No meaningless bubbles sparkle around him, but happiness, fertility, life, rebirth, purity of spirit. These are our old Baltic symbols.

From December 21 to 24, the longest night on earth and the shortest day occurs, gradually increasing every day until spring arrives.

The winter solstice is an eternal transformation into a new state, the birth of the sun, the beginning of a new life. It was held until Christmas. The stories record that a supposedly white deer escapes during the solstice and arrives at Christmas. She was waiting for him on the quiet, gloomy, snowy winter nights. There was a new beginning and the fun of summer returned to earth.

And the green scarf itself this year is like a symbol of a nine-horned deer that wears the symbols of heaven on its horns. The volumetric sun and moon decorations are made from a lightweight aluminum frame. They are wrapped in a warm white color with a bright LED wire and garlands, and decorated with golden toys of various diameters. The main decorations are also surrounded by illuminated white symbols: horses, crows and waters. Our ancestors had placed their faith in them through the magical powers of nature and the high gods.

The beautiful part of this year’s celebrations, like that symbolic bright sun, is the hope that the misfortune that has befallen mankind will pass. It’s sad that we can’t hug, can’t meet, and due to the limitations of a pandemic, we can’t implement all of our good ideas. But everything is very temporary, you just have to have a handful of patience, believe and don’t give up.

The idea and concept of decorating the Christmas tree according to the presented theme was proposed and implemented from idea and design to production and installation by UAB Švenčių studija.
