In the investigation of the Fertility Clinic, one of the suspects is asked to be arrested

“At the moment, we cannot name the person for whom the application has been submitted to the court. We will be able to provide more after the court decision,” says Dalia Pocienė, Chief Prosecutor of the Klaipėda Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the prosecutor, after about fifty searches, half a million euros in cash were found, nine people were arrested, including managers, a total of 12 people were suspected. According to data from the Registry Center, the shareholders of the Fertility Clinic are Algė Ivaškevičė, Virginijus Diržauskas, Algirdas Usonis and Dov Feldberg.

The clinic advertises on its website that it is the largest infertility treatment institution in Lithuania, performing most of the assisted reproductive procedures in the country. The clinic, which has been in operation since 2000, has branches in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda. It is directed by A. Usonis.

According to the police, the pre-trial investigation included searches at the company’s facilities in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaip, da, the homes, vehicles and other places of the detainees. “The raids were carried out in a private medical services company and in the residences and cars of its employees and managers,” said the prosecutor.
