The first stage of the Lithuanian 3×3 SAVY.LT basketball championship in Garliava brought fans a series of wonderful matches, but in the end the triumphs of the triumphs: the men of Šakiai “Vyčio-Gulbelės”, triumphed in the final 21: 13.
The fact that they still lost Darius Tarvydas in the quarter-finals of the tournament, who had a stretched leg muscle and decided not to appear in Sunday’s competition, did not prevent Šakiškis from achieving victory at this stage.
This was only the first of six selection stages in the Lithuanian 3×3 basketball championship SAVY.LT. For the victory, the Šakiai team received 100 credit points, which will determine the teams’ positions before the final stage of the championship. Nevėžis-Optibet lost 80 points in the final.
The Šakiai club, which competed in group A, defeated the Vytautas Magnus and Telšiai University teams there, and the Telšiai team, which broke into the playoffs, won the match.
In subgroup B, together with Trakai “GEALAN”, two clubs that performed better in the group competition “ELITO” yesterday – the team from Antwerp (Belgium) and “ROMEOGYM”. The foreign guests won both matches, and the Trakians turned out to be strongest among the Lithuanian teams.
In group C, the Klaipėda “Neptūnas” team took the lead, dramatically breaking both the Marijampolė “Sūduva-Mantinga” and the Lithuanian U21 national team. In the confrontation between neighbors and young people from Marijampolė, the latter celebrated the victory by securing a place in the playoffs.
Finally, in the battalions of group D, Tauras of the Kaunas district demonstrated its superiority, after overcoming the resistance of the Lithuanian teams U23-VMU and Kėdainiai Nevėžio-Optibet. The inhabitants of Kėdainiai won the duel of these last teams.
In the quarterfinals, Vytis-Gulbelė broke the under-21 team led by Dominykas Stenionis only after an incredibly difficult fight. Tauras surely defeated GEALAN, and the men of Antwerp fell against Nevėžis-Optibet. The last ticket to the semifinals, after defeating Telšius, was taken by Neptūnas.
The battle for the final was resolved by only three people: Tarvydas, who had stretched the muscle in his leg, no longer helped them. However, “Vytis-Gulbelė”, who has lost weight in the classic duel, did not leave any opportunity for Taurus – 21:10. In the following semi-final, among the teams sent by the LKL clubs, the Kėdainiai people seemed stronger: they defeated the port city team by 21:14.
After the final ranking of the first leg of the Lithuanian 3×3 basketball championship of SAVY.LT was clarified, Neptūnas won 70 credit points, Tauras – 60, Antwerp team – 50, U21 team – 45, Telšiai – 40, GEALAN – 35, Sūduva-Mantinga ”- 20, VMU – 18, U23-VMU – 16, ROMEOGYM – 14 points.
