The Aukštaitija Implantology Clinic does not agree with the conclusion of the Vilnius Regional Administrative Court that the Government of Saulius Skvernelis implemented legal and proportionate measures in the spring to curb the pandemic.
“The appeal was filed this morning,” Nerijus Zaleckas, a lawyer at the Aukštaitija Implantology Clinic, told BNS on Tuesday.
In his complaint to the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania, the lawyer claims that the Government had no legal basis to ban the activity in March and that the bans imposed were disproportionate.
The lawyer also asked the administrative court to approach the Constitutional Court to assess the constitutionality of the government’s ruling.
To curb the spread of the coronavirus, the government introduced a quarantine in Lithuania, closed state borders, and restricted the provision of trade and services from March 16. The restrictions were gradually relaxed in the second half of April and the quarantine was lifted in June.
The second quarantine was introduced in early November and, in mid-December, the Ingrida Šimonyt gobierno government tightened it up even more. Some companies are also considering challenging operational restrictions imposed during the second quarantine in court.
