According to article 415 (2) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Lithuania, driving vehicles whose tires do not meet the established technical or tire use requirements imposes a fine on drivers of thirty to forty euros.

With the approval of the government of the proposal of the Ministry of Transport to extend the deadline for the change of winter tires, drivers who do not change winter tires in accordance with the Road Traffic Regulations in force until now will not be sanctioned by the police . Due to traffic restrictions between municipalities, it is proposed to extend the tire change period until May 10.
“The Road Safety Law imposes an obligation on vehicle owners to change winter tires. However, due to the movement restrictions imposed on those who will not be able to do so, we can assure you that the police will not penalize drivers as a result. At present, the most important thing is to reduce the number of contacts of people and avoid unnecessary contacts ”, emphasizes the Minister of the Interior Agnė Bilotaitė.
Road traffic regulations stipulate that studded tires are prohibited from April 10 to October 31.
