M.Žaliūkas played for Scottish Edingurbo’s Hearts team from 2006 to 2013 and made a brilliant mark here.
In 2012, the Lithuanian became the captain of this team and helped win the Scottish Cup.
The defeated team honored the memory of the former footballer. On Monday, the club shared the most memorable moments of M.Žaliūkas’ career with this team on social media.

M.Žaliūkas began his career at the club “Inkaras” in Kaunas, later he played for the clubs “Hearts” in Edinburgh, “Rangers” in Glasgow, “Leeds United”, he was a player for the Lithuanian national football team. He finished his career in 2016 in Vilnius “Žalgiris”.
For the past few years, M. Žaliūkas has been battling motor neuron disease.
News of the footballer’s death was shared on social media on Saturday by the wife of Marius Žaliūkas, author of the blog “Lady of Books” Nora Žaliūkė.
The message published in the brochure reads: “He will rest quietly in eternal silence … Today (October 31) Marius Žaliūkas’s heart stopped beating.
