The institution in the social network stated that the scope of treatment of therapeutic diseases should be reduced.

“Unfortunately, the COVID-19 situation in the country is not improving at LSMU Kaunas Hospital, Šilainiai unit. Unfortunately, the scope of treatment for therapeutic diseases is shrinking. An additional 25 beds of COVID-19 patients are scheduled for this week to be treated with multiple internal medicine patients.

On Monday, we had 85 patients, 9 of whom were in the Intensive Care and Resuscitation units at Hipodromo str. and Josvainių st. The latter are not vaccinated. Most unvaccinated patients are also in other wards: up to 20% come to us with two vaccinations on average. all COVID-19 patients, ”the report said.

The delta variety is also becoming dangerous for children

The hospital reported that it also has children with coronavirus on a regular basis.

There are currently 5. There are 3 of them in resuscitation. Therefore, the bad prediction that the delta variety is becoming dangerous for people of all ages, including the smallest ones, is coming true. Therefore, we ask for a critical criticism of the propaganda and the lie about vaccines.

Those countries where vaccination has reached 80%. and more levels, speaking no longer of a pandemic but of an epidemic. And that means less congested hospitals and the ability to remove restrictions. Let’s be mindful, civic and healthy! ”, Urged the institution.

The portal tv3.lt recalls that on Friday the VUL Santara clinics announced that they would have to stop part of the planned services.

Most often oxygen dependent

As head of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Department of the VUL Santara Clinics, dr. Inga Ivaškevičienė, the appearance of especially seriously ill children is worrying.

“There are children who depend on oxygen. In reality, such a situation did not exist during the period of the pandemic. This is alarming as children occur with people who are particularly seriously ill. That would be the main message.

“What will happen next is difficult to predict, both difficult and easy at the same time, because epidemiology has its own patterns and the number of patients is likely to increase,” said the doctor.

The number of patients is increasing

I. Ivaškevičienė stated that children of very different ages go to hospital, but that now the most seriously ill are adolescents.

“But there are newborns and 18 years old anyway. Critical patients make up a small part, that’s good news, but there is. And this is something different or brighter than it has been so far. There are currently 8 children in the hospital, but that number is constantly changing: some come, others leave, but the trend is for them to increase.

If we had one or two a day in summer or there were no patients like that, now the department is practically full and there is a constant change, “he said.
