The two English Lithuanians, who brutally beat the man in a public place, will be imprisoned for some time for their actions.
On February 18, the Peterborough Crown Court convicted Audri Verkauskas (40) and Aurimas Bekeris (37), who were found guilty of serious bodily injury.
Both have been sentenced to 1 year and 4 months in prison and 5 years of access to their unpublished victim.
What the Lithuanians did is called “wild behavior”.
Friends met a man who had previously been friends with A. Verkauskas’s partner on Saturday morning, December 19, around 9 am on Gladstone Street. He began to blame the man he knew for it, hit him multiple times, and soon A. Becker released his fists to work.
The attackers behaved extremely brutally in a public place: when the man they hit was lying on the ground without resistance, jumping on his head, leaving him by the will of fate, he returned several times and kicked his back and head again. When the victim finally stood up, the nearby criminals returned again and beat him again with blows.
It was a wild and prolonged attack, characterized by cruelty, things could have ended much worse. That should not be the case on our streets.
The wounded man was helped by passersby, he was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for a broken nose, tissue breakage and other injuries.
The suspects were arrested the same day at their homes.
