The London Ambulance Service, meanwhile, said paramedics, including specialists trained to work in hazardous environments, had been dispatched to the scene in the Bau area.
According to The Guardian, the London Fire Brigade said a woman had died in the accident: she was found on the ground floor of one of the buildings where a crane had crashed.
The London Ambulance Service said four other people were injured in the incident, two of whom were treated at the scene and the other two were rushed to hospital with head injuries.
The woman, whose house was destroyed during the incident, said she was happy that she and her family were healthy and alive. She told the PA news agency that she was shocked. According to her, the sound and vibration of the falling crane was so strong that she thought an earthquake had started.
“I came out of the bathroom, and if I had left at least a second later, the attic door on top could have fallen on me and it really would have hurt a lot. “I am even afraid to think what it would have been like if my brother and sister had been in their rooms, they suffered the most,” said the woman.
Another witness to the incident saw that as soon as the rescuers arrived, he handed the rope over to the crane operator so that he could get out of the cab. He was not injured in the incident.
