“Today I asked to start an official inspection, inform the law enforcement authorities, the bank and we are waiting for the data,” the mayor of Alytus, Social Democrat Nerijus Cesiulis, told BNS on Wednesday.

“Of course, if possible, try to prevent the order from disappearing,” he added.

He said he had contacted the police and the Financial Crimes Investigation Service (FNTT).

According to the mayor, it is an amount of almost 180 thousand. However, he claimed that he could not say exactly and offered to contact the head of administration Jurgis Krasnickas.

“I think J. Krasnick, who puts the last signature, is responsible, he will really know all the amounts, all the details,” said the mayor.

He also said that this amount was likely spent on road repairs in the city.

“As far as I know, the company called that it did not receive the order. When it was clear where the order was, it was understood that it had not been transferred to where it was,” said N. Cesiulis.

According to him, the details of the company could be changed before the money was transferred, but again he offered to contact J. Krasnickas.

According to the mayor, it is not yet clear whether it was intentional or in error.

“The municipality has been attacked and cyber attacks for a long time, we have viruses in the emails, the administration has also bought training on how not to get caught up in things like understanding that it is a scam attack, but we see that the situation is as it is,” he said. N. Cesiulis.

“We are waiting for responses from the institutions, we will see if it is a mistake if it was intentional,” he added.

According to the owner of Alytus, it is now necessary to “prevent the outflow of money” and recover them, if possible.

J.Krasnickas: He wants to fuck me

J. Krasnickas, the Social Democrat and director of the municipal administration, says he thinks he wants to be “kicked” but did not reveal who or why.

“I just got fresh and someone wants to fuck me here.” Some people are not on tour with me, “J. Krasnickas told BNS.

Although the mayor offered to contact him for more details, the head of administration said he could only comment on them on Thursday.

“I will not quote you from memory, call tomorrow, I will tell you (…) Listen to the police, the FNTT, the bank – everything is written. I am afraid to quote from memory because they have burned me more than once ”, said the head of the administration.

When asked if the money he had requested from the police with his signature could not have been transferred there, he interrupted the call.

“Put the signature in one place, you can write like this,” said J. Krasnickas.

He was appointed managing director in early November after the firing of Rolandas Juonys.

From 2012 to 2015, J. Krasnickas was also mayor of the city.

Initiate a fraud investigation

Kristina Janulevičienė, a spokeswoman for the Alytus County Police, informed BNS that the municipality was requesting the opening of an investigation into the fraud.

“At the end of the workday, we received a statement from the Alytus City Council requesting the initiation of a pre-trial fraud investigation,” a police spokeswoman said.

According to her, the statement indicates that the municipality should have transferred the money for the works to the Latvian company, but did not receive them.

“The statement states that the municipality had to transfer money to the Latvian company for the work carried out, but it probably did not go to that account, because, according to preliminary data, the Latvian company did not receive the order,” said K. Janulevičienė.

According to her, the decision to open an investigation will be made on Thursday.
