As Edita Kontenytė, Head of the Operations Department of the Palanga Police Commissariat, informed Vakarinė Palanga, tonight strangers on J.Basanavičiaus Street broke into the slot machine storage rooms near the old Pajūris hotel and stole stuffed toys from there to get prizes.
The theft was detected in the morning and reported to the police at 5:30 pm
As the officer commented, two gaming machines were hacked and items stolen after the theft of the special canopies.
The exact number of stolen toys and their value remains to be determined. It is not that simple because owners need to do a lot of revisions: how many and when were the toys placed, what were the profits, what were the carry-overs.
Police do not give details, but there are reports that the thieves generously distributed the stolen items to the girls passing by tonight.
Palanga police are conducting a pre-trial investigation into the robbery.
