Anxiety among future drivers. People who had to take practical driving tests the day before find that their test will not be taken. Regitra says there are already 190 such people and that number could grow every day.
Exam canceled
Vaida from Vilnius waited three months for the driving test. A woman who failed the test once in mid-summer had to retake it on October 27. The day before the scheduled date of the exam, the woman received a message from the Regitra that her exam was canceled.
“I think I’ll wait a little longer after such a good time,” Vaida tells the tv3.lt news portal.
The woman says that due to the new exam date, Regitra employees had to contact her by phone. The woman was eager to call Regitrai herself soon.
“You are not allowed to register online yourself. Write that there are no categories in which I can register for the exam. I called Regitra, the answer was that the Regitra employees would contact me in two weeks,” says Vaida.
The woman claims that the canceled exam caused her a lot of inconvenience.
“I can’t when I want to buy driving lessons. Everything had to be coordinated with the husband because I have nowhere to leave the child. In a word, time is wasted and money is wasted. Those extra lessons that I bought before the exam were bought in vain” , shares Vaida.
Exams are transferred in Vilnius
When the news portal tv3.lt contacts Regitra, the specialist from the company’s communication department, Emilija Bardauskienė, confirms that the exams are canceled daily.
“Currently, theory and practice exams are held in all Regitra exam centers. However, due to the situation in Vilnius, some of the planned practice exams are postponed to other days,” says E. Bardauskienė .
Regitra says people are warned of a day canceled the day before.
“Since the situation is constantly changing, the capacity of the company is evaluated on a daily basis. In other words, part of the next day’s exams are canceled every day in Vilnius. For example, October 28. they are revoked on the 29th. part of the scheduled exams, 29 d. it will be canceled on the 30th. In seven days, a total of 190 practice exams scheduled in Vilnius were canceled. However, it is important to note that these exams have already been postponed or will be postponed to other dates ”, says E. Bardauskienusk.
According to the Regitra specialist, the new dates are chosen by talking to the examinees themselves.
In other cities, the exams are not yet canceled.
Eight examiners are sick
As of October 28, eight Regitra examiners are ill with Covid-19. One examiner is sick in Kaunas and all the others are in Vilnius.
“So far no COVID-19 cases have been identified for examiners in other cities,” Regitra said in a response.
The company adds that all examiners currently working in Vilnius underwent preventive tests on October 23, the results of which were negative.
The cars were equipped with partitions.
Regitra says it has taken additional security measures due to the situation in the country. Employees measure temperature every time they arrive to work, are provided protective equipment, facilities are disinfected, employees are tested.
According to Regitra, to ensure the least possible contact between the examiner and the person conducting the exam, the cars are equipped with special partitions.
Regitra also repealed a rule that required those who wanted to cancel the exam to do so 24 hours a day before the scheduled retention date.
“By the way, to divide the flow of customers, it was decided in May in Vilnius, where most of the future drivers come, to be examined from two different places. Therefore, category B practice exams are currently being held in Vilnius at Lentvario str. 7 and Old Ukmergė road. 4 Regitra divisions ”, says E. Bardauskienė, Regitra specialist.
