“Thursday was probably the most fun speed stage. I really had a lot of fun and the navigation was not bad. I drove most of the day alone.

When someone overlooked me, I noticed that after a while they were coming back from behind. It is lost and lost. Somehow he was doing quite well. I drove safely, enjoying it and without making mistakes, ”says the motorcyclist.

Although it was fun to drive, in the last few kilometers the stones fell and the Lithuanian got lost.

“If the last twenty kilometers had been eliminated it would all have been a lot of fun. But again it was a complete rock. We got lost with a Frenchman like that, we didn’t go that way.

At a certain point we turned to take a waypoint, we didn’t find it and we realized that we are not on the road at all. So we lost about five minutes. In the end, I took the waypoint and the Frenchman didn’t take it anyway, because he didn’t listen to me and he drove his way, ”says the athlete.

In the overall motorcycle ranking, the rider is 21st. If you manage to keep this place or climb higher, it will be Arūnas’ record. So far, he achieved the best result two years ago in Peru: he was in 24th place.

“In this section of speed, I should take two more positions, because I know who did not really take waypoints. They will receive fines. Still, most likely in the general classification, that does not change much. It was while I was distracted in those last ones. kilometers, both the cars and the other group arrived, everything was dusty and the finish was no longer difficult, ”says Arūnas Gelažninkas.

On Friday, the organizers promise a short 200-kilometer stage. According to the organizers, this will not be the easiest speed section, as there are dunes waiting to get stuck. The runners will end on the Red Sea coast.
