“Based on the latest findings of the lawyers, it appears that we will deal with an emergency,” the prime minister said.
According to her, the main question was who will have to take responsibility if the rules are not followed, because in the case of quarantine, the person is responsible for the violations.
“The government did not think or change its mind. The key question was whether the responsibility for non-compliance should lie with who it should be, that is, not with the service provider, the institution, some organizer, but the person who does not.
These lawyers assured that this would be the case even in the absence of a quarantine regime. Consequently, these changes will be made in the regulation of the emergency situation and the list of requirements for the use of masks indoors will be expanded, ”explained I. Šimonytė.
The Prime Minister reported that these issues are likely to be discussed in the Government on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister did not elaborate on the issues that could still be addressed regarding the tightening of the restrictions.
I.Šimonytė hinted at the possible announcement of a new quarantine regime last week. She argued that an emergency might not be enough to introduce the mandatory use of masks indoors.
