As not only the cold season shifts to Lithuania, but the number of new COVID-19 cases also increases, the question arises: how not to confuse and differentiate the symptoms of coronavirus, flu, and colds?

Symptoms of COVID-19:

fever: temperature above 37.8 degrees (common);

cough – severe, dry (common);

general weakness, fatigue – very high (often);

loss of taste and smell (sometimes);

muscle aches (sometimes);

sore throat (sometimes);

vomiting diarrhea – more likely in children (sometimes);

headache (sometimes).

Symptoms of the coronavirus do not include sneezing, runny nose, or nasal congestion.

Flu symptoms:

fever: temperature above 37.8 degrees (common);

cough – severe, dry (common);

general weakness, fatigue – high (often);

loss of taste and smell (rare);

sneezing (sometimes);

severe muscle pain (common);

runny or stuffy nose (sometimes);

sore throat – can be severe;

vomiting diarrhea – more common in children (sometimes);

headache (common).

Cold symptoms:

fever – temperature above 37.8 degrees (sometimes);

cough – mild (rare);

general weakness, fatigue – low (rarely);

loss of taste and smell (rare);

sneezing (common);

muscle aches (rare);

runny or stuffy nose (common);

sore throat – mild to moderate (common);

headache (rare).

The symptoms of influenza are not characterized by diarrhea or vomiting.
