How much do IT specialists earn in Lithuania and how much elsewhere?

Experts from the Estonian company RIA.com Marketplaces have analyzed the labor market in the IT field: how much do these specialists earn and how many work in the mentioned countries?

The average difference in wages is the largest

According to a study by the Academy of Software Development, more than 26,000 programmers, who make up the majority of the IT sector, currently work only in the Baltic States. In Belarus and Ukraine, according to RIA.com Marketplaces, there are currently 70,000 employees. and almost 200,000 programmers.

The fact that this area is in high demand is demonstrated not only by the growing number of specialists, but also by the significantly higher salary than the national average. For example, according to data from the Lithuanian Department of Statistics in the information and communication sector, IT specialists in our country received an average of 2,584 euros before tax in the first quarter of this year. And the average salary in the country in 2020. In the first quarter, it was € 1,381 per month before taxes.

According to algas.lv, programmers in Latvia are paid from 846 to 2346 euros, not including the most promising jobs. Overall, the IT analysis and the Bootcamps study indicate that the average monthly salary of IT specialists in Latvia in the first quarter of 2020 was approximately € 3,000 per month. Although Latvian IT specialists earn slightly more, the average income of Latvians in all professions is lower than in the rest of the Baltic States, according to the Latvian Statistics Agency. amounted to € 1,100 before tax in the third quarter.

And the average salary in the country during this period amounted to 1,404 euros (gross).

The average salary in the IT sector in Belarus is lower than in the Baltic States. According to Dev.by, in 2020. it stood at € 1,683 in the first quarter. However, given the current average salary in the country – 404 euros, this figure is high.

The site dou.ua estimates that the average salary in the IT sector in Ukraine in the first 2020. The quarter was 1,725 ​​euros. It is true that the average salary is only 368 euros.
