Hot with tv3.lt: is Ingrida Šimonytė’s government really “the best in history”?

Ramūnas Karbauskis, President of the Lithuanian Union of Greens and Peasants (LVŽS) and one of the leaders of the Liberal Movement, Eugenijus Gentvilas, who has joined the war of letters with I. Šimonyte, shares his ideas in this program Monday.

During the recent congress of the Lithuanian Christian National-Democratic Union (TS-LKD) party, a lot of praise was heard, and many of them were for the government of I. Šimonytė. However, most polls show the opposite: most ministers have a negative rating.

According to E. Gentvilas, the congress of each party is a celebration, so praise is normal. The self-poster is usually not available here.

“It is natural that there are more euphoric roosters here than there is reason. Perhaps it is more of an encouragement to the parties, an offer not to be disappointed with the current rating. However, both Šimonytė and Kubilius were never politicians in search of ratings of And looking objectively from the side, I think it is too early to say that the Šimonytė Government is the best of all the former, as well as to talk about whether we will be able to achieve the second term, “says E. Gentvilas.

The politician himself has a strong opinion about the prime minister: “Maybe he seems to listen to someone for opinions or criticism, but I still have to agree that Šimonytė is a responsible prime minister who is not successful, but in which you can trust”.

R. Karbauskis shares completely different observations. “We have tried constructively to offer something to the government. But apparently they don’t need it. I think this is the most desperate government in the history of Lithuania,” he says and shares examples where, mentally, the government is wrong and does not manage its job.

“And if we talk about the competence of the ministers, then this cabinet is really very weak. Ours was much stronger. Without a doubt, this is now being seen by the public. If we talk about September-October last year, we were in first place in the European Union in terms of economic growth. Today, I am even afraid to think about where we are ”, R. Karbauskis is convinced.

Why are people so frustrated with the government? You don’t really listen to suggestions and don’t always stand your ground behind your decisions? Are those who criticize the current government really doing it right?

All the answers to these questions are in the program “Karštai su tv3.lt”, which you can watch in the broadcast at the beginning of the article.
