The most beautiful match of the European Championship took place on Sunday night.
In Group C, the Dutch team broke the Ukrainians 3: 2 after a dramatic fight.
Already in the first half, both teams thought more about attacking than defense, but the spectators did not see the goals in the first 45 minutes.
Still, the stacked teams made up for the lack of goals in the second half of the match, during which the ball flew into goal even five times.
The Netherlands took the lead after 52 minutes to make it 0 – 1 after a graceful play down the middle, and the scorer was Georginio Wijnaldumas.
Just seven minutes later, Wout Weghorst doubled his team’s lead.
Although it seemed that the Dutch footballers were in control, the Ukrainians did not break, and Andrėjus Yarmolenko scored the most beautiful goal of the tournament in the 75th minute.
A tying goal was close, but Romanas Yaremchukas hit a free kick just outside the goal.
The opposing fans reported loudly to the referee that he was too lenient when he only showed Denzel Dumfries of the Netherlands a yellow card after an untimely tackle from behind in the 85th minute of play.
