Kenya basketball wins. The men’s national team led by Liz Mills secured a ticket to the African Championship.

Kenya (2-4) secured a ticket to the aforementioned match in a win over multiple African champions Angola, which broke 74:73 (9:22, 19:17, 25:17, 21:17).

Kenya returns to the African Championship after a 28-year hiatus, and Mills has become the first coach to reach such heights in men’s basketball. For Kenya, this will be the fourth African priority in the country’s history.

Kenya desperately lost 44:71 to Mozambique in the last qualifying match (1-5), but this did not affect qualification as it was Mozambique’s first and only victory in a Group B match.

Kenya came in third with two wins and thus secured a ticket to the African championship.

“Kenya returns to the African Championships after a 28-year hiatus. I am proud to be the first woman to bring the men’s team to international competition,” Mills wrote from Australia on Twitter.

The African Championships will take place from August 24 to September 5 this year in Rwanda.
