A cocktail of street repairs and rain “lit” festive fireworks in Kaunas on Friday afternoon. A brief but heavy rain flooded part of the streets of Kaunas.
Around noon, rain clouds gathered over part of Kaunas. Rain was falling from the sky and soon chunks of ice began to fall from the sky. Precipitation was so high that rain harvesting systems got stuck in almost every stretch of rain, especially at intersections.
The streets were flooded at the intersection of Lukšio and Žukauskas, Mituvos Street and Savanorių Avenue, but the rain caused almost the greatest concern for drivers driving on Taikos Avenue. Here, on a road not yet repaired, rain covered the intersection of Taikos avenues, A. Barañauskas and on June 23.
The door to the nearby Circle K gas station also had to close.
At this intersection, not a single car came out in an attempt to break the score. No less defiance awaited pedestrians. They had to traverse or search for surrounding trails.
